REBUILDING - REMANUFACTURING SAVING THE WORLD'S ENVIRONMENT	A properly "rebuilt" automotive part is the functional equivalent of a new part and is virtually indistinguisable from a new one. In fact, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that such parts be labelled "rebuilt" so that they are not mistakenly accepted as new. For all practical purposes, rebuilding auto parts is very much like assembling new parts except that many of the components are taken from the core unit, especially the housings, and non-wear parts. In rebuilding, the unit must be completely disassembled, cleaned and examained for wear and breakage. Worn, missing or nonfunctioning components are replaced with new or rebuilt components. Electrical parts frequently need rewinding or rewiring. After all work is done, the unit is reassembled and tested for compliance with performance specifications.
